Abstract
Nationalism functions not only against imperialism, it does so against multinational political entities within a state. This conceptual framework promoted many armed conflicts, which are presented as struggles for national liberation. The completion of decolonization was the beginning of the age of ethnic conflicts. Now, external forces may militarily intervene in local violent groups. The Global War on Terror was originally declared upon the international network of radical religious groups. Later, the war on terror began to be mentioned to contain any organizations that resort to violent means. Ethnically oriented groups are labeled as terrorists in the 21st century and denied. The conceptual tensions between liberators and terrorists are observed in many parts of the world. What is worse is that the political division between the promoters of the War on Terror led by the West and the anti-Western camp has been engulfed so seriously in recent times. There is a pressing need to resort to confidence in the common fundamental value of humanism represented by Gandhi's thoughts. We should recall and reinterpret Gandhi's spirit so that it can be applied to the hard reality of our contemporary time. The fundamental principle of Gandhian humanism is now desperately needed.
