Abstract
This paper aims to broaden the scope of my previously published article "Reading Ernest Hemingway in Algeria" by shedding light on whether or not Hemingway is read, taught and well-received in Algerian Universities. In doing so, 70 surveys were administered to university teachers and students with such degrees as BA, MA, and PhD in majors varying from literature and civilization to literary translation in English, French, and Arabic. Findings show that Hemingway is taught, widely read, well-received and highly recommended in the Algerian University thanks to his hard-earned experiences expressed through his distinctive style, the various morals and life lessons embodied in his works, and his teachings of Western culture and history, particularly those of the United States. Hemingway's literature affords an opportunity to enrich the respondents' vocabulary and enhance their proficiency in English. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
