Abstract
This article focuses on Dr. Barbara M. Dossey’s contributions as a pioneer in holistic nursing, integral nursing, and nurse coaching within the integrative healthcare paradigm. It details her development of the grand theory of integral nursing, which incorporates multiple perspectives of human experience, and her coauthored middle-range theory of integrative nurse coaching that guides practice, education, research, and policy. The article also highlights her extensive Florence Nightingale scholarship, including primary research on Nightingale’s letters and legacy, and her leadership in global nursing initiatives such as the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH), which aligns nursing with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
