Abstract

The article discusses the construction of the first tram stop in Prague made from printed UHPC concrete. The tram stop features a Plexiglas roof, a protective wall, an information panel, and a bench, all integrated with LED lighting. The design of the tram stop was performed by a team of engineers and architects, and the structure has an organic shape influenced by the work of Piero Luigi Nervi. The columns of the tram stop are made of steel pipes filled with UHPC, and the ribs of the roof structure were created using a special robotic arm. The construction process involved dividing the roof structure into six assembly parts and filling the joints with UHPC. The tram stop is described as elegant, harmonious with its surroundings, and the result of collaboration between artists, designers, and technologists. [Extracted from the article]
