Abstract
The article reviews several recent piano recordings, focusing on interpretations of solo repertoire by composers such as Granados, Albéniz, Bach, Rachmaninov, Schoenberg, Webern, George Benjamin, and Fauré. It highlights Peter Donohoe’s technically assured and emotionally controlled performances of Granados’s *Goyescas* and Albéniz’s *Iberia*, Salih Can Gevrek’s impassioned debut album featuring works by Bach, Schumann, and Rachmaninov, and Karim Said’s distinctive program blending classical and modern works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schoenberg, and Webern. Additionally, Erik Bertsch’s comprehensive recording of George Benjamin’s complete piano works and Théo Fouchenneret’s and Aline Piboule’s recordings of Fauré’s nocturnes and related pieces are noted for their insightful interpretations that challenge traditional views of these composers. The reviews provide critical perspectives on the pianists’ technical execution, interpretative choices, and the repertoire’s presentation.
