How Platforms Can Help Black-Owned Businesses.

Abstract

This article discusses the role digital platforms can take on to boost visibility of black-owned businesses, detailing Yelp’s introduction of a tool for black-owned businesses to identify themselves in their listing and allowed customers to filter for these businesses. Research was conducted on the effects of this implementation on the businesses that utilize Yelp to gauge the success of the tool.
