Abstract

The article shows how the practicum placements of social work students in libraries provide opportunities to advocate for and protect human rights of vulnerable populations while practicing competencies of the profession by extending digital technology access to underresourced groups. It argues that access to technology increases digital literacy, reduces inequity and improves opportunities for better health outcomes, and that libraries play a role in protecting the human right of education.
