Abstract

This study investigates the effects of bilingualism on performance in a modified confrontational naming task (CNT) among native and non-native English speakers. The research found that the age of English acquisition (AOA) significantly predicts CNT performance, while no significant differences were observed between native and non-native speakers or between multilingual and bilingual participants. The findings suggest that AOA is an important factor to consider in clinical neuropsychological assessments involving bilingual individuals. Due to the small sample size, further research with larger groups is recommended to better understand how bilingualism influences CNT outcomes.
