Abstract

Jerome K. Jerome, an English writer, advocated for Irish home rule in 1920 during a time of conflict between Ireland and Britain. He humorously critiqued British policies towards Ireland, suggesting peaceful solutions to the 'Irish Question'. Jerome's article gained international attention and was used by Irish republicans in their propaganda efforts. Despite his plea to 'let Ireland go', the War of Independence continued, resulting in significant loss of life. [Extracted from the article]
