Abstract
The article focuses on a qualitative study investigating how teachers of Swedish as a second language in Finland enhance their students' language learning by addressing their basic psychological needs during feedback processes. Conducted in Joensuu, Finland, the research involved interviews with fifteen teachers across various educational levels, revealing that encouragement, support for autonomy, and the establishment of a trusting learning environment were key strategies employed by the teachers. The findings suggest that increasing teachers' awareness of students' psychological needs may improve language learning outcomes, particularly in contexts where students are less motivated to study Swedish. The study emphasizes the importance of supporting individuality and fostering trust in educational settings. [Extracted from the article]
