Abstract
The Native American Art Magazine's latest issue features a variety of historic items available for purchase from galleries and dealers across the United States. One notable item is a large Oglala Teton Sioux rawhide parfleche saddle bag from around 1870, painted with natural pigments and in excellent condition. Another item is a quilled vest from 1903, also from the Oglala Teton Sioux tribe, which has been left untouched and is decorated with dyed porcupine quills. Additionally, the Home & Away Gallery in Maine is offering a rare scrimshawed tusk from Alaska, featuring expertly incised dall sheep and a Native background landscape. [Extracted from the article]
