Abstract

The article discusses the long-standing relationship between Mongolians and wolves. It mentions that while wolves have been romanticized in Mongolian culture, they have also been considered a threat to humans. It also mentions that in socialist times, the Mongolian government incentivized hunters to kill wolves by offering bounties for every pelt surrendered, with higher rewards for pregnant females and pups, as part of their extermination campaigns.
