Abstract
A study conducted at Pwani University focused on the Swahili language and its vocabulary related to personality traits. The researchers used a psycho-lexical approach, analyzing a Swahili dictionary and free descriptions to identify trait terms. The study found that the Swahili trait vocabulary consists of 1,338 terms, with nouns being the most common (55%), followed by verbs (41%) and adjectives (4%). This research provides valuable insights into the language and culture of the Swahili-speaking community in Eastern Africa. [Extracted from the article]
