Abstract
In the article, the author presents a corpus-based study of Swiss federal acts written in Italian language to discuss multilingual legislation and plain language. Other topics include the importance of translation in multilingual law-making, the principle of popular law as conceptualized by Eugen Huber in early 20th century, and the linguistic complexity in translation-mediated multilingualism.
