Abstract
TIME Magazine's article highlights Dogon, a fine-dining restaurant in Washington, D.C., opened by chef Kwame Onwuachi as a tribute to both Benjamin Banneker's legacy and the West African Dogon tribe's astronomical knowledge. The restaurant's design incorporates elements that reference Banneker's surveying tools and the celestial atmosphere associated with the Dogon tribe. Dogon offers a culinary experience that celebrates Onwuachi's diverse cultural roots and the city's diversity through an Afro-Caribbean lens, with dishes that map the African diaspora. Additionally, Dogon recently introduced Sirius, a four-seat counter service where Onwuachi personally cooks for guests, providing an even more intimate dining experience. [Extracted from the article]
