Abstract

The two major languages in Taiwan are Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese. Taiwanese has mainly two teaching systems, Taiwanese General Romanization (TGR) and Taiwanese Minnan Romanization (TMR). This study explores the social tribology between TGR and TMR. According to empirical research, it is found out that the teaching effect of TMR is significantly lower than that of TGR, and the teachers on the teaching site generally agree with the use of TGR. But the paradox is that Taiwan's Ministry of Education has instead implemented TMR in schools by means of sacred violence. The basic assumption is that this is just the romanization of a language. No matter how difficult romanization is, the children can learn it. Therefore, there is no need to consider the teaching effectiveness of the romanization system. There is also no need to consider the teacher's opinion and directly promote TMR teaching with violence. However, since 2006, TMR has been vigorously promoted by national resources, but it is found out that teachers usually cannot learn it, nor can students learn it. This is a rare teaching phenomenon in the history of teaching. Therefore, this study analyzes this infrequent wonder from the perspective of instructional design and system design. Finally, from the perspective of social thoughts, this study discusses the possible future development of the social tribology of TGR and TMR teaching systems in Taiwan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
