Abstract
In March 2023, Tennessee adopted a law that prohibits health-care providers from delivering puberty blockers and hormone therapy to transgender minors to facilitate their transition to another sex. At the same time, the law specifically allows health-care providers to deliver puberty blockers and hormone therapy to treat a minor’s congenital defect, precocious puberty, or other conditions. Tennessee contends that the law advances its interests in the health and safety of minors in the state and in protecting the integrity and ethics of the medical profession. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
