Abstract

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is offering the Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Grant Program to assist applicants in developing and expanding the necessary infrastructure for comprehensive lead-based paint hazard programs in eligible privately owned rental or owner-occupied housing. The deadline for applications is September 4, 2024, and a total of $50 million is available for up to 22 awards ranging from $500,000 to $2.5 million. Eligible applicants include state, local, special district, and Native American tribal governments. The program priorities include determining the prevalence of childhood lead poisoning, implementing lead-safe work practices, and establishing procedures for program activities.
