Abstract
The article argues that the President Donald Trump administration's use of federal forces in Minneapolis represents a dangerous escalation of state power that undermines civil liberties, democratic norms, and human rights in the United States. It situates these actions within a broader pattern of authoritarian governance, linking aggressive Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, and retaliation against political opponents to what commentators describe as electoral authoritarianism.
