Sextortion Crime in the Digital Infosphere.

Abstract

In this era of digital dominance, our lives are delicately threaded into the fabric of cyberspace, where individuals prefer to interacting via virtual means as of feasibility and convenience. India is using an average of 12 gigabytes each month. In addition, twenty-five million new smartphone users influx into the country every quarter at an Expeditious increase. While the surge in smartphone utilisation brings forth myriad advantages, it also reveals a shadier underbelly known as cyber sextortion, exerting significant repercussions. Cyber Sextortion is a growing global menace that is still in its infancy stage. Also, a considerable portion of individuals falling victim to sextortion are experiencing known as victim precipitation. It is also crucial to draw attention to the fact that cybercriminals who engage in these kinds of activities tend to have advanced educational attainment, frequently choose to live an illicit lifestyle.
