Abstract

This article focuses on the personal and professional partnership of soprano Sonya Yoncheva and conductor Domingo Hindoyan as they celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. The couple met in 2009 at Geneva’s Music Conservatoire and, after pursuing individual careers, married and started a family while balancing their international musical commitments. Hindoyan is chief conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and Yoncheva is a celebrated opera singer known for her versatility and advocacy for music education, including her role as Bulgaria’s Children’s Ambassador for UNICEF. They maintain separate careers by choice but occasionally collaborate, emphasizing the importance of family and music’s role in childhood development. Their shared passion for music and mutual respect underpin both their artistic work and personal life.
