Abstract

Smoke Jazz Club, located in New York City's Upper West Side, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The club has a rich history, starting as Augie's Jazz Bar before becoming Smoke. Over the years, Smoke has supported jazz legends and nurtured new generations of musicians. Despite challenges such as the smoking ban in 2002 and the COVID-19 pandemic, Smoke has remained a beloved venue for jazz musicians and enthusiasts. The club also founded Smoke Sessions Records in 2014, releasing numerous albums. The most recent release is Reverence, featuring saxophonist Charles McPherson. [Extracted from the article]
