Abstract
The article focuses on research examining the effectiveness of manualized psychological therapies for individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and/or Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) in forensic settings. The study included twelve original research studies conducted in various environments, such as community, secure hospitals, and prisons, with participants receiving individual or group therapy. While most studies reported significant reductions in certain symptoms and behaviors, the research highlighted concerns regarding the quality and internal validity of the studies, noting a serious risk of bias and the absence of control groups in several cases. The findings suggest that conclusions about the effectiveness of these therapies should be approached with caution. [Extracted from the article]
