Abstract

The U.S. District Court in Arizona has allowed Mexico to continue its lawsuit against five gun dealers, ruling that they can be held liable for facilitating gun trafficking from the U.S. into Mexico. The lawsuit alleges negligence, negligent entrustment, gross negligence, unjust enrichment, and demand for punitive damages. The court dismissed claims of public nuisance, RICO, and consumer fraud. The Government of Mexico is seeking damages and injunctive relief to prevent the gun dealers from targeting Mexican cartels. [Extracted from the article]
