Abstract
The article focuses on the role of universities in promoting sexual and reproductive health (SRH) among Filipino youth, emphasizing the need for comprehensive SRH education in the Philippine context. It highlights alarming statistics on adolescent pregnancies and associated health risks, including unsafe abortions and maternal complications among teenage mothers. The authors advocate for university-based SRH programs that provide education on reproductive anatomy, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and healthy relationships, alongside confidential access to SRH services. They also call for policy initiatives, awareness campaigns, curriculum integration, and supportive campus environments to address cultural taboos and improve adolescent health outcomes. This approach aligns with efforts to achieve the United Nations Development Goal 3 on good health and well-being.
