Abstract
The article focuses on the temporary capture of a mini-moon, designated 2024 PT5, by Earth's gravitational orbit from September 29 to November 25, 2024. This object, about 10 meters in size and classified as a Near-Earth Object (NEO), is believed to be an asteroid originating from the Arjuna asteroid belt and may have been ejected from the Moon. NASA tracks such NEOs through its Center for Near Earth Object Studies, which monitors their orbits and close approaches. Mini-moons like 2024 PT5 can be categorized as either "temporary captured orbiters," which complete multiple revolutions around Earth, or "temporary captured flybys," which remain in orbit briefly without completing a full revolution; 2024 PT5 falls into the latter category.
