Abstract

The authors offer a response to comments made by E. C. Matthay and R. M. C. Kagawa on their study of concealed carry weapons (CCW) laws. Topics discussed include the key policy questions examined in the study, states' provisions under shall-issue CCW laws, and the possible differential effects of the adoption of shall-issue CCW laws on rates of firearms violence by race/ethnicity.
