Abstract
The article discusses the International Labour Organization's (ILO) decision to take action against Myanmar's military junta for significant violations of labor rights, invoking Article 33 of its Constitution. This resolution, passed during the 113th International Labour Conference in Geneva, aims to isolate the junta diplomatically and economically, despite objections from several countries. The Confederation of Trade Unions – Myanmar (CTUM) and other stakeholders plan to form a committee to identify companies still cooperating with the junta and apply pressure for divestment. The ILO's action follows a history of labor rights violations since the February 2021 coup, marking a critical moment in international efforts to address these issues. [Extracted from the article]
