Abstract

The article discusses the US Supreme Court's decision to review a Hawaii law that restricts individuals from bringing firearms onto private property, such as malls and stores, without explicit permission from the property owner. Three Hawaii residents are appealing this law, arguing that it infringes on their Second Amendment rights by effectively prohibiting the carrying of handguns in public spaces. The Supreme Court's review follows its 2022 ruling affirming that the Second Amendment protects gun rights outside the home. The case, titled Wolford v. Lopez, will be heard with a ruling expected by July, amidst other pending Second Amendment-related appeals. [Extracted from the article]
