Abstract
United States Steel Corp. has announced that the completion of its $14.1 billion takeover by Nippon Steel Corp. will be delayed until the second half of the year. This is a change from the previous guidance of closing in the second or third quarter. The delay is due to a request for additional information from the Department of Justice in connection with an antitrust review. The deal has faced opposition from the main steelworker union and has attracted attention from politicians and the White House. It is also subject to a national security review.
