Abstract

A recent study conducted by investigators from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health examined the impact of the end of court-ordered desegregation on children's health in the United States. The researchers analyzed data from the National Health Interview Survey and found that the end of court-ordered desegregation was associated with increased school segregation. However, it also had some positive effects, such as improved mental health among Black children and better self-reported health among White children. The study highlights the importance of interventions to address the harms of school segregation in order to reduce racial health inequities. [Extracted from the article]
