Abstract

This article focuses on a randomized, single-blind study comparing the analgesic efficacy and tolerability of oral tramadol/dexketoprofen (TRAM/DKP) versus intravenous paracetamol plus tramadol (PARA+TRAM) in 323 patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) via the minimally invasive direct anterior approach (DAA). Results showed that TRAM/DKP provided significantly faster and greater postoperative pain relief over 48 hours, with fewer patients requiring rescue medication, while both treatments demonstrated similar tolerability profiles. The study supports the use of TRAM/DKP as an effective multimodal analgesic regimen in major orthopedic surgery, potentially facilitating enhanced recovery and earlier discharge without increased adverse effects.
