Abstract
The Supreme Court is set to hear a plea filed by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is seeking to have an FIR lodged against him and other Congress leaders quashed. The FIR was filed in connection with a protest in 2022 where a road was blocked, causing traffic disruptions. The Karnataka High Court had dismissed a petition filed by Siddaramaiah and others seeking to have the trial proceedings in the Special Court quashed. The High Court had ordered Siddaramaiah to appear before the MPs/MLAs Court and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each petitioner. [Extracted from the article]
