Abstract
This article provides an overview of novel drug approvals anticipated from the fourth quarter of 2023 through the third quarter of 2024, focusing on agents expected to have significant clinical and financial impact in hospitals and clinics. It highlights 31 drugs from a pipeline of 58 novel agents under FDA review, including treatments for oncology, infectious diseases, rare diseases, pulmonary arterial hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and obesity. Notable approvals include cellular and gene therapies for genetic disorders and rare diseases, monoclonal antibodies for autoimmune conditions, and new antimicrobials targeting resistant infections. The article serves as a resource for health-system pharmacists to manage formularies and optimize clinical programs based on emerging therapies.
