Abstract
The Supreme Court of India has ruled that divorced Muslim women can seek alimony from their husbands under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This decision is seen as a milestone for Muslim women and is expected to improve their financial stability and reduce instances of arbitrary divorce. Shayara Bano, a triple talaq crusader and victim herself, expressed satisfaction with the verdict and emphasized its benefits for all Muslim women. The court's decision is also expected to decrease cases of triple talaq and promote gender equality and financial security for all married women, regardless of their religious affiliation.
