Abstract
The article focuses on a study examining the impact of recreational cannabis legalization (RCL) on cannabis use among individuals diagnosed with psychosis in the United States. Conducted by researchers from Cambridge Health Alliance, the study analyzed data from 2014 to 2022, revealing that individuals with psychosis in RCL states experienced a significant increase in 30-day cannabis use by 9.53 percentage points following legalization. The findings suggest that cannabis can adversely affect the health of individuals with psychosis, prompting recommendations for regulators to consider the implications of cannabis policies on taxation, potency, advertising, and health warnings. The research highlights the need for careful policy design in light of these effects. [Extracted from the article]
