Abstract
The article discusses the impact of Germany's recent marijuana decriminalization law on British Columbia (B.C.) cannabis growers and producers, who are looking to expand their exports to the German market. The law, effective April 1, legalizes possession of up to 25 grams of marijuana for adults and allows personal cultivation, which is expected to significantly increase the demand for medical cannabis prescriptions in Germany. B.C. companies, such as Pure Sunfarms and Herbal Dispatch, are already exporting medical cannabis to Germany and anticipate growth in this market due to the high quality of Canadian products and the relatively high cultivation costs in Germany. The article highlights the potential for B.C. cannabis businesses to capitalize on this new opportunity as the German market develops. [Extracted from the article]
