Abstract
The article discusses the contrasting sentiments within the roads and bridges construction industry as it approaches 2026, highlighting optimism alongside concerns about tariffs and the impending expiration of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). A survey indicated that 76% of industry respondents expect the upcoming year to be "Good" or "Very Good," yet 77% expressed worries that tariffs will negatively affect material costs, particularly for steel and cement. While the IIJA has provided significant funding for infrastructure improvements, many believe that further investment is necessary to address ongoing issues, such as the poor condition of many roads and bridges. Additionally, there are concerns about the availability of qualified workers, with a majority rating it as "Weak." [Extracted from the article]
