Abstract
A report from the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, Poland discusses the case of a driver with epilepsy who caused a road accident during an epileptic seizure. The report suggests that expert psychiatrists and psychologists should assess the likelihood of the perpetrator repeating the act and recommend therapeutic or penal measures to the court. The researchers propose extending the catalog of protective measures to include therapy for somatic diseases in order to minimize the risk of developing mental disorders in the future. The report concludes that these proposed solutions would require changes in legal regulations. [Extracted from the article]
