Abstract

A recent study conducted at Claremont Graduate University examined the differences in perception and memory of officer-involved shootings between police officers and civilians. The study found that officers who participated in the incidents live had different responses compared to civilians who viewed a Body-Worn Camera (BWC) video of the incident. The research highlights the importance of considering the perspective of officers when evaluating the justification of force used in these situations. The study has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the application of legal standards in officer-involved shootings. [Extracted from the article]
