Abstract
The article focuses on the tragic death of Ajike Owens, a devoted mother of four, who was shot and killed by her neighbor, Susan Lorincz, during a dispute over children playing in the neighborhood. Tensions escalated between Owens and Lorincz, who had repeatedly complained about the noise and threatened the children. On June 2, 2023, after a confrontation, Lorincz fired a gun through her door, fatally wounding Owens. The incident gained national attention, particularly due to Lorincz's defense invoking Florida's "stand your ground" law. Ultimately, Lorincz was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 25 years in prison, leaving Owens's family devastated. [Extracted from the article]
