Abstract

The article reports on a tragic mass shooting that occurred during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on December 14, resulting in at least 15 fatalities, including a 10-year-old girl, a retired police officer, a rabbi, and a Holocaust survivor. The attack, described as an “anti-Semitic terrorism incident” by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, involved two gunmen, one of whom died during the incident while the other was arrested after being shot by police. Eyewitnesses highlighted the bravery of a bystander, Ahmed al Ahmed, who intervened and disarmed one of the attackers, saving lives in the process. In response to the shooting, the Prime Minister announced intentions to strengthen the country's gun laws. [Extracted from the article]
