Abstract
The article examines the American Indian Higher Education Consortium's (AIHEC) approach to data sovereignty as a foundation for advocacy and strengthening Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). Topics include the federal trust responsibility and the need for accurate Indigenous data to support sovereignty, AIHEC's initiatives to build TCU institutional research skills and collaborative networks, and the development of database to collect and protect metrics reflecting Indigenous perspectives.
