Abstract
The article focuses on recent high-level trade discussions between the United States and Canada in preparation for the upcoming review of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Canada-US Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc met in Washington as part of efforts to address market access and sectoral tariffs, particularly in autos, steel, aluminum, and lumber. The USMCA, negotiated under President Donald Trump to replace NAFTA, includes provisions for annual reviews and allows withdrawal with six months' notice. Industry leaders, such as Rob Wildeboer of Martinrea International Inc., express support for reducing tariffs to promote a tariff-free North American auto industry. LeBlanc anticipates targeted changes rather than a full renegotiation of the agreement. [Extracted from the article]
