Abstract

The article explores the advantages and consequences of the proposed Protect Reporters from Exploitative State Spying (PRESS) Act, which would create a U.S. federal shield law for journalists from disclosing confidential information. It raises concern over national security and points out the discretion of state legislatures to define reporters' privilege.
