Abstract
Elon Musk's social media platform, X, is requesting the US Supreme Court to protect companies from being compelled to reveal user financial data through unwarranted subpoenas by federal law enforcement agencies. X is challenging a lower court ruling that allowed the IRS to access a Coinbase customer's transaction records in a tax investigation involving over 14,000 cryptocurrency exchange users. The platform's lawyers argue that such actions violate users' Fourth Amendment rights and the Constitution by coercing companies to breach their privacy agreements with customers. Musk, known for advocating free speech, has previously sought limitations on government demands for social media cooperation in law enforcement matters. [Extracted from the article]
