Abstract
This article discusses the changing nature of the psychological contract between employers and employees in the face of increasing dissatisfaction and disengagement. The author argues that organizations need to revisit their unwritten agreements with employees regarding change. The traditional psychological contract, which involved employees supporting a one-time transformation in exchange for stability, is no longer applicable in today's fast-paced and disruptive business environment. The author suggests that organizations should engage in honest dialogue and explicit renegotiation with employees to embrace continuous reinvention as the new normal. The article provides examples of companies that have successfully renegotiated their psychological contracts and offers recommendations for organizations to navigate this new reality.
