Abstract

The article focuses on the upcoming opening of The Source: Where Creativity Sparks Discovery, a 4,000-square-foot experiential learning space at the Library of Congress (LoC) designed for young people ages 8–15. Located in the Thomas Jefferson Building, The Source offers interactive exhibits featuring maps, audio, film, and text from the LoC's collections to encourage youth research and media literacy. Developed with input from a national youth advisory council and in collaboration with design firm Skolnick Architecture, the space includes researcher boxes, life-size librarian videos, and showcases works by LoC national ambassadors for youth literature. The Source will open to the public on May 9, with related programming and a website launching earlier in April.
