Abstract

ARTICLES Nevada, Iowa Vivek Ramaswamy is sitting in the back of an SUV barreling due west down the highway into a blinding Iowa sunset when we come very, very close to a high-speed collision. Ramaswamy has dismissed questions about whether he would serve as running mate in the likely event that Trump is the 2024 GOP nominee, and during the ride from Nevada to Boone I ask him whether he would categorically rule out accepting the VP slot. Several days later, during an appearance on MSNBC, host Mehdi Hasan asks Ramaswamy four separate times to explain what exactly was abhorrent about Trump's conduct, and four separate times Ramaswamy refuses to say. Are there two or three key reasons, I ask, why GOP primary voters should prefer Ramaswamy to the front-runner, besides Ramaswamy's belief that he could win in a landslide while Trump would win just narrowly?.
