Abstract
Keri Hui's article "Satire and Sensibility: Rameau’s Nephew" delves into Denis Diderot's exploration of sensibility and satire through the character LUI, a mime artist and musician. LUI's portrayal as a complex figure oscillating between sublime acting and sensitive emotions adds depth to Diderot's critique of societal norms and values. Through LUI's struggles with excessive sensibility, Diderot uses satire to mock societal vices and prompt readers to reflect on justice and morality in a society plagued by greed and duplicity.
